Job Description

  • Follows CNIM MARTIN, BU and Corporate policies, processes and procedures to ensure proper
    governance.
  • Identification of Vendors & New vendor development
  • Obtains Prequalification documents from Vendors
  • Performs Supplier Audits and Supplier Qualification
  • Manages RFQ with Vendors
  • Negotiation with Vendors
  • Prepares Commercial Evaluation Table
  • Places the Purchase Order with in Project Budget
  • Prepares Contract / Purchase Order for Vendors
  • Ability to prioritize and address Project purchase orders based on level of urgency.
  • Follow up of Post Order activities with Vendors
  • Manages claims with Project vendors.
  • Regularly monitors status of all project orders.
  • Post Order Supplier Evaluation
  • Schedules and attends Kick of Meeting with Vendors
  • Attends Project review meetings on behalf of Supply Chain Management.
  • Follows and Maintains documentation as per ISO 9001:2015 requirements and SCM process
  • Use of ORACLE and all functionalities as a buyer.
  • Prepares monthly reporting and other necessary reports as required by Supply Chain Manager
  • Other responsibilities as directed by CNIM MARTIN Supply Chain Manager

Education / Experience

  • Bachelors Degree in Mechanical Engineering with 6 – 8 years of work experience.
  • Previous experience in purchasing for Power Industry (preferably WTE )
  • Strong internal customer service attitude to support multiple groups within the organization.
  • Self-starting team player with sound independent judgment
  • Must be organized, reliable and detail oriented.
  • Demonstrated solid work history.

Skill / Competency

  • Industry and market knowledge (vendors network, etc.)
  • Excellent verbal and written English language skills
  • Proficient with MS Office; will need to complete tasks with Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint etc., as
    assigned.
  • Should possess good negotiation skills
  • Sound knowledge in Commercial Terms and Conditions
  • Knowledge of ORACLE in Purchasing module
  • Willingness to travel frequently

Location: Chennai (with frequent travel throughout India)
